Whether you spend a day lakeside with a picnic, visit a medieval fortified town or paraglide over the Auvergne mountains, the friendly relaxed atmosphere of the region will make this a holiday to remember.

Swimming Pool & Lakes

In addition to the local pool there are several nearby mountain lakes ideal for swimming and picnicking. 

Canoeing, Kayaking, Paddleboarding & Rafting

The Dordogne River is perfect for canoeing, kayaking and rafting. The two closest outfitters are in Argentat.

Tennis & Squash

Public tennis courts are next to the swimming pool. Tennis rackets and balls are provided at the house.  Squash courts in neighbouring town.

Horse Riding

There are several riding stables close by and over 350km of riding trails in Corrèze which link all the main riding centres of the department.


Three golf clubs are within driving distance. Each have pro-shops, club hire, etc. 

Walking & Hiking

Spectacular views of the Dordogne River and gorge are just a short walk from the house. Local 'Topo-Guide' maps available.

Rock Climbing

Nearby sites include the Dordogne Via Ferrata Rock and La Chapelle du Roc. A little further,  the incredible views from the Via Ferrata in Le Saillant. 

Hang-gliding, Paragliding & Microlight

Near Monceaux, a former aerodrome is now a base for hang-gliding, paragliding, microlight, towed flights, etc.

Villages and Towns

Historic riverside towns and fairytale medieval villages are among the top local tourist attractions. Many are among the official 'Most Beautiful Villages in France.'


Chateaux and Museums

Travel back in time with a visit to nearby fortresses and chateaux or explore art, history and folk traditions at one of the local museums.


The local geology, with numerous water sources and areas of vast limestone bedrock, has produced many magnificent cave complexes. Take a subterranean boat ride or view ancient cave art. 

Wine, Cheese & Markets

Visit a local vineyard or venture only as far as the nearest wine merchant. Combine fine wine with fresh produce from a local farmer's market and some award-winning artisanal premium cheeses!
